Service Policies

A MacFarlane Energy Service Policy is the perfect solution for keeping your heating system in peak operating condition and controlling repair costs. We offer a choice of three plans: Basic, Value and No Surprises. Each policy provides an annual tune-up and the assurance of 24-hour coverage for heat emergencies. The differences are in the coverage for repair work.

Here is a detailed look at our service policies:

Value Plan

The Value Plan is our mid-level policy that covers most problems that are likely to occur with a heating system. It includes preventive maintenance and the assurance of 24-hour response to a heat emergency. It also provides extensive coverage in the event of a repair. The cost of any repair that we make to any system component covered by this plan is completely covered, including both parts and labor, and you pay nothing for those repairs. (If we make repairs to components that are not covered by the Value Plan, we bill those at our regular rates for those repairs.)

• You are assured of 24-hour coverage for a heat emergency
• You pay nothing for repairs to any system components covered by the Value Plan (see list below)

No Surprises Plan

Our premium plan for customers who want the most complete repair coverage available. It covers nearly anything that can go wrong with a heating system. It covers all the components covered by the Value Plan plus the significant addition of the additional major parts listed below.

Oil-Fired Water Heater Coverage

Customers who choose the Value Plan or the No Surprises Plan can also purchase a policy to cover their oil-fired water heater. The plan includes:

• Coverage of oil burner parts, aquastat, controls and emergency switch
• $100 replacement allowance for a leaking water heater

Tank-Guard Oil Tank Coverage

MacFarlane Energy offers the Tank-Guard program, which protects your oil tank by treating it with a liquid corrosion inhibitor that can extend the life of your tank. Plus, if your tank releases oil, it is covered by the Tank-Guard warranty and your oil tank will be replaced at no charge (parts and labor included). MacFarlane Energy installs and repairs most heating equipment. Our heating experts are highly trained and carry precision diagnostic tools to help them troubleshoot problems and double-check their work.
