Is Your Fall Checklist In Order?

We know it’s not fall yet, but while you enjoy your final weeks of summer and prepare your kids for the upcoming school season, this transitional period between seasons is the perfect opportunity to prepare your home for another heating season!

Your friends at MacFarlane Energy are working hard to prepare our drivers and technicians for the cold Massachusetts weather ahead, but we also want to remind you of steps you can take to prepare for fall and winter. Getting ahead of cold temperatures and preparing your home for fall will help reduce energy costs, improve comfort, and allow you to seamlessly transition into next season!

3 Tips to Prepare You for Fall!

  1. Seal doors and windows: Late summer and early fall are great times to check around your doors and windows for gaps and drafts. Drafty homes waste huge amounts of energy and raise your energy costs for no reason! If you do not want to pay to heat the whole neighborhood this winter, make sure you take the time to seal your doors and windows.

  1. Schedule a tune-up: If you did not schedule your tune-up in the spring, it is vitally important that you schedule it now before the heating season begins. Over the busy winter, your equipment can collect soot and dirt. A tune-up will clean, test, and examine important parts of your heating equipment to increase efficiency.

  1. Schedule an equipment upgrade: If you noticed an unexplained increase in fuel costs last year or required more than your fair share of repairs, it could be time for a new system. New heating equipment is highly efficient and can reduce your energy costs in addition to improving your comfort.

At MacFarlane Energy, we know how to keep you comfortable, and making proper preparations now can make a world of difference. Contact us and schedule your heating oil delivery or service before the weather starts to turn.
